General introduction to the Sacred Scriptures
Basic data on the subject:
- Assignment: 1st and 2nd degree of studies, winter semester in the 1st year
- Form: lectures in the range of 2 hours/week, finished by spoken or written examination

- Level of student workload: 2 ECTS
Short characteristics:
- The purpose of this course is to define and explain the key concepts and basic patterns of the origin, formation, and nature of Sacred Scripture as a whole and its individual components. It also offers an overview of the development of insights into the inspiration of sacred texts and provides an introduction to textual redaction by teaching how to work with the textual annotation apparatus in critical editions of the Bible.
